Our long week of prepping for Zeta Phi Skid Rho has finally ended with the finalé being The 10th Annual Zeta Phi Skid Rho philanthropy event. Numerous different orgs and chapters of neighboring fraternities/sororities were able to come out and help in our effort to make over 4500+ sandwiches for the homeless! This wouldn’t have been possible without the continued support of those who care, so we thank all who came out! We look forward to next year’s event, and so should you!

USC Zeta Phi Rho is having a fundraiser on Wednesday, March 28. Come support by coming to the ZETA HOUSE and checking out the supply of discounted clothing brands, such as OBEY, UPPER PLAYGROUND, LOCAL CELEBRITY, & MORE.

We will have workers from both midnight mission and union rescue mission come speak to students about their experiences at the missions, how their work impacts the community, and how students can become more involved. FREE FOOD AND DRINKS FYI.

3/30 Fri. – ZETA PHI SKID RHO, 10am-2pm
Following the event, Zetas will be joining with Midnight Mission and LA Union Rescue Mission to pass out the sandwiches at Skid Row. If you or your organization wants to come with us to pass out the sandwiches, let one of the bros know!

 [WHAT IS ZETA PHI "SKID" RHO?]

Zeta Phi “Skid” Rho is the keystone annual philanthropy event for Zeta Phi RhoFraternity at the University of Southern California, Gamma Chapter. At this event, we make lunches for the homeless living in the Skid Row neighborhood of Los Angeles. Not only do we make a huge quantity of lunches (5000 last year) for the homeless, but we also unite students from different interests together for a great cause and consequently create awareness of the massive poverty present in Los Angeles.

Since the event started 10 years ago, much has changed but poverty and homelessness remains an epidemic problem in Skid Row and the world at large. Zeta Phi “Skid” Rho has evolved from a few Zetas making a handful of sandwiches and delivering them on Thanksgiving morning directly to homeless in Skid Row, to the event that exists today.

Zeta Phi “Skid” Rho has now involved all 9 Chapters of Zeta Phi Rho, dozens of student organizations spread throughout Southern California, and hundreds of volunteers who have lent helping hands over the course of the last decade. This year we hope to make more sandwiches than ever and to spread awareness about Skid Row and poverty to more people than ever.

From its inception in 1995, the founding fathers of Zeta Phi Rho strived to distinguish the fraternity through the creation of the strongest brotherhood possible and the ideal of the distinguished gentlemen. Strong and independent students came together to challenge the notions of a contradictory Greek system that claimed progress. A flawed system that preyed on insecurities and exploited the weaknesses of its potential members, Zeta Phi Rho vowed to avoid the wrongs of such a system and to focus, instead, on the strengths of ideal fraternity brotherhood. Thus a fraternity was built that places brotherhood above all else and strives to build leaders from men.

Zeta Phi Rho provides countless benefits to its brothers, ranging from social, academic, philanthropic, and networking-related opportunities.
